Why do I have to choose a settlement agent to buy a business?
A settlement agent or lawyer should be chosen to represent the buyer at settlement. Their job is to protect the buyers’ interests at settlement. To ensure that money only changes hands once full title to all the business Assets etc has been signed off. They are there to answer your questions and to explain your rights under the agreement.
